Bucket of unknown chemicals left at front door of Storey County Fire Department
The Tri-Net Narcotics Task Force is asking for help from the public regarding the circumstances relating to a bucket filled with alleged hazardous materials that was left at the front door of the Storey County Fire Department in Virginia City.
On Sunday, March 25, a Virginia City resident turned in a bucket to the Storey County Fire Department, claiming it contained chemicals used in manufacturing methamphetamine. The Storey County Fire Department secured the area around the bucket's location and contacted the Tri-Net Narcotics Task Force. Tri-Net investigators suited up in special hazard materials suits as they ascertained the contents and found several plastic containers containing unknown liquids. The liquids have been sent to the lab for analysis.
Tri-Net continues to follow up leads on the investigation. If any one has information concerning this case, please contact Lt. Mike Allen at the Tri-Net Task Force at 687-1658, or at the new toll free drug reporting hot line at 1-866-2-REPORT. You do not have to give your name.
