Henderson DMV Office to Open Saturdays
New Hires Pay Off in Improved Service

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety is offering new Saturday hours at the DMV branch office in Henderson beginning this Saturday, April 15^th.

The Henderson branch will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Hours at all four Las Vegas full-service offices are now 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

The new Saturday service is one of the direct results of new hiring authorized by Governor Kenny Guinn and the Nevada Legislature's Interim Finance Committee earlier this year. 17 of the 57 new hires were assigned to the Henderson branch specifically for Saturday service. Nearly all of the new employees have completed training and are serving Nevada motorists.

The $3.6 million Henderson DMV branch opened in May, 1998. The 18,000-square-foot complex features 30 windows, a vehicle inspection station and full services for auto dealers and fleet owners. It replaced an office on Boulder Highway which had only eight windows and limited services.

Media coverage is invited. The Henderson DMV office is next to Ocean Spray Cranberry World West at 1399 American Pacific Dr. This is at the corner of American Pacific and Stephanie, south of the Sunset Station Casino.

The next major facilities project for the DMV is a remodeling of Carey branch office. This office will be closed for remodeling between April 30^th and May 22^nd.
