Employees of Sturgeon's Casino Arrested for
Embezzlement
Employees accused of embezzling over $50,000.00
An investigation by the Nevada Division of Investigation led to the January 25th arrest of Sturgeon's Casino employees, Angie Williams and Angela Klegseth on embezzlement, conspiracy and burglary charges. Lovelock residents Williams and Klegseth are accused of embezzling in excess of $50,000.00 over the past seven months from the Lovelock casino.
Williams and Klegseth were cashing their personal checks for currency at the casino cashier. Before preparing the daily bank deposit, they would remove their personal checks from the deposit. Williams and Klegseth also were involved in taking cash from the cashiers' drawers for the restaurant, bar and casino before counting the remaining funds for the deposit. Because they worked in the accounting office, they were able to alter the daily documents to cover up the theft.
The investigation led to two search warrants for the person, vehicles and residence of Williams and Klegseth and the seizure of their respective bank accounts. In excess of $6,500.00 was recovered. No court date has been set at this time.
The Nevada Division of Investigation, a Division of the Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety, assists local law enforcement jurisdictions in criminal investigations.
