The Department of Motor Vehicles sets maximum
emissions testing fees based on an annual survey of hourly
labor rates at stations within each county.

Fee discounts, "No Pass-No Pay" options and similar
promotions are not mandated by State law and are offered at the discretion of
the individual station.

Stations which offer registration renewals
are allowed to charge a maximum of $10.00 for this service
in addition to the fees listed here.

Gasoline-powered vehicles up to 8,500 pounds
as classed as light duty. Vehicles 8,501 pounds or greater
are considered heavy duty.

Diesel vehicles pay the single
light duty fee regardless of actual weight. Diesel vehicles up to
10,000 pounds must undergo emissions testing.
